Samsung Electronics Pakistan has inaugurated the second cohort of its Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC), reaffirming its commitment to equipping Pakistan’s youth with future-ready Artificial Intelligence skills. The launch ceremony was held at DHA Raya Country Club, bringing together industry leaders, HR executives, and newly enrolled students.
The event welcomed 50 Lahore-based students who will undertake an intensive, in-person AI training programme across partner campuses in Lahore, Karachi, and Islamabad. The initiative reflects Samsung’s broader vision to support Pakistan’s digital transformation through structured, employment-oriented learning pathways.
Building on the momentum of its inaugural cycle, the second cohort introduces deeper industry linkages and an enhanced curriculum. The programme also expands its focus on inclusive access, particularly encouraging participation from underserved communities and women in technology.

The launch comes at a critical time for Pakistan’s growing tech ecosystem. With more than 60 percent of the population under 30 and IT exports nearing USD 4 billion in FY 2024–25, the need for AI-skilled professionals continues to rise. The government’s National AI Policy 2025 outlines an ambitious goal of training one million AI professionals by 2030, positioning initiatives like SIC as key contributors to that national target.
Speaking at the ceremony, the President of Samsung Electronics Pakistan highlighted the company’s global outlook on AI. He emphasized that AI should be dependable, accessible, and integrated into everyday life. He also described Pakistan’s youthful population as a strategic advantage that can drive innovation and economic growth when supported with the right skills.

Participants in the second cohort will complete 270 hours of structured coursework and laboratory sessions. The curriculum spans machine learning, data science, natural language processing, and deep learning. Students will also undertake an 80-hour capstone project focused on solving real-world industry challenges.
Ahmed Wahab Shah, Director of Corporate Marketing at Samsung Electronics Pakistan, underscored the programme’s employment-first philosophy. He noted that investing in youth skills at the right time can convert Pakistan’s demographic strength into a long-term economic dividend.

Umer Ghumman, Senior Director at Samsung Electronics Pakistan, encouraged students to combine technical expertise with curiosity, resilience, and business insight. He stressed that the most successful technology professionals are those who can translate AI capabilities into measurable business impact.
The ceremony also featured Ahmed Khan, CEO of Punjab Skills Development Fund, who praised the initiative as a decisive step toward modernising learning methodologies and strengthening Pakistan’s digital workforce.

A distinguishing aspect of SIC is its strong integration with industry. HR leaders and hiring managers from leading technology firms attended the event, reflecting employer demand for AI-driven talent. Graduates from the first cohort have already secured internships and positions at prominent companies, validating the programme’s practical, job-oriented design.
