LG Electronics has expanded its popular xboom audio lineup with the launch of two new true wireless earbuds that bring a unique hygiene-focused innovation. The latest additions, LG xboom Buds Plus and LG xboom Buds Lite, are designed to deliver premium sound while offering built-in UV light technology that helps clean the earbuds automatically.
The new models are part of the “xboom by will.i.am” series, developed in collaboration with nine-time Grammy Award winner will.i.am. The global artist played an active role in tuning and shaping the sound profile, ensuring a balanced and immersive audio experience tailored for modern listeners.
One of the standout features of the LG xboom Buds Plus is the integration of UV-based self-cleaning technology within the charging case. This system helps reduce bacteria on the ear tips during charging, promoting better hygiene for daily users. As consumers become increasingly health-conscious, this feature positions LG’s earbuds as a practical choice for both convenience and cleanliness.
The LG xboom Buds Lite, while more affordable, still delivers strong audio performance and compact portability. Both models emphasize enhanced bass, clear vocals, and optimized call quality. The collaboration with will.i.am reflects LG’s focus on combining technology with artistic expertise to create a refined listening experience.
Initially launched in South Korea in September 2025, the earbuds are now expanding to additional international markets. LG also showcased the new xboom lineup at the FYI Visionaries event, highlighting its commitment to innovation and creative partnerships.
The expansion of the xboom series signals LG’s intent to compete aggressively in the global true wireless earbuds market. With increasing demand for feature-rich, hygienic, and high-quality audio accessories, products like the LG xboom Buds Plus and Buds Lite are strategically positioned to attract tech-savvy consumers.
By blending advanced UV cleaning technology with professionally tuned sound, LG aims to redefine expectations in the wireless audio segment. The new earbuds reflect a broader industry trend toward integrating health-conscious features into everyday consumer electronics.
