Canon has unveiled a Limited Edition version of its popular PowerShot G7 X III compact camera, celebrating 30 years of its iconic PowerShot digital camera lineup. The anniversary edition introduces exclusive design elements while retaining the features that made it a favorite among vloggers and content creators.
The original PowerShot camera debuted in 1996 with a 0.5-megapixel sensor, marking Canon’s entry into the digital photography era. Over three decades, the series has evolved into a staple for photographers and videographers alike. To commemorate this milestone, Canon refreshed the G7 X III with a “graphite” color scheme and added a knurled front ring for a premium feel. A 30-year anniversary logo printed on the camera body gives it a distinct identity as a collectible edition.
The G7 X III gained fame as one of the first cameras marketed specifically toward vloggers. It offers a 20.1-megapixel sensor, a flip-up 3-inch touchscreen, and a 24–100mm f/1.8–2.8 zoom lens. Additional features include a microphone input, uncropped 4K video at 30fps, and 1080p video at up to 120fps. At launch, the ability to stream directly to YouTube over Wi-Fi set it apart, making it a favorite among influencers and early social media creators.

High demand and limited availability previously drove used G7 X III models above their original $749 retail price. In August 2025, Canon increased production, returning the camera to stock at a higher price of $880. The Limited Edition G7 X III is now priced at $1,299 and includes a Peak Design cuff wrist strap and a 32GB SD card. Shipping is expected to begin in April 2026.
Alongside the anniversary G7 X III, Canon also introduced two new RF-mount full-frame lenses. The RF 14mm f/1.4 L VCM ultra-wide prime lens is priced at $2,599, while the RF 7–14mm f/2.8–3.5 L Fisheye STM zoom lens is priced at $1,899, offering up to a 190-degree field of view. These new lenses complement Canon’s commitment to providing high-quality optics for photographers and videographers.
