The landmark upgrade aims to bring postal services in line with global standards and meet the growing demands of Pakistan’s digital economy.
The project, valued at Rs. 6.644 billion, will be financed through the Export-Import Bank of Korea and implemented across 2,761 post offices nationwide. Officials say the modernization effort will introduce digital systems, updated service counters, and an integrated technology framework designed to streamline financial and logistical operations.
With the new automation plan, customers will experience faster service delivery, improved tracking options, and enhanced reliability. Pakistan Post’s financial services, including money orders, savings accounts, and payments, will also receive a digital overhaul to ensure greater transparency and accuracy.
According to project details, the initiative will enable accurate parcel handling, digital stamp usage, and real-time operational monitoring for postal staff. The integration of modern software and hardware will help reduce delays, minimize errors, and bring greater efficiency to end-to-end postal processes.
Officials believe the digital upgrade will significantly strengthen Pakistan Post’s competitiveness against private courier services, offering customers improved services at lower costs. The project is also expected to support e-commerce growth by providing small businesses with faster and more reliable delivery options.
The initiative aligns with the government’s broader digitalization agenda, aimed at reforming public services and expanding access to modern tools across the country. Once fully implemented, the automation project is expected to elevate Pakistan Post into a modernized, technology-driven organization capable of serving millions of customers more effectively.
With the approval secured, work on the automation effort is set to begin soon, paving the way for a digitally empowered postal network across Pakistan
